# Minterest Sunset Hub

After careful consideration of both market and operational realities, we have made the difficult decision to sunset the Minterest protocol. We know this will be hard news for the entire community, as it is for the team.

Minterest will begin a structured wind-down. The Minterest App UI front end will remain live until **19 December 2025**. Afterwards, the protocol can be accessed directly via smart contracts. Your deployed assets remain secure throughout this process.

#### Why We Made This Decision

This decision was not made lightly. From the beginning, this community has believed in a vision of fairer lending. We’ve navigated a complex, evolving DeFi landscape and stayed focused on building technology that matters. After the project’s 2023 restructuring, a smaller team kept the vision alive. We shipped industry first technology, four protocol deployments, and achieved major milestones and setback, while pushing for PMF because we believed in the mission and the underlying technology.

Over the past year, the team explored every viable path toward sustainability, [including new-chain deployments, stablecoin yield integrations, and enterprise RWA pilots](https://docs.minterest.com/ama-q4-2025). Despite meaningful progress the capital environment and team constraints have made it impossible to continue operating the protocol to the standard our users and partners deserve.

Given today’s constraints, a careful wind-down is the right step. The wind-down does not include any token issuance, distribution, or refund for CAE/LBP participants, private investors, or those impacted by the prior security-incident. We recognise this is not the outcome any party had hoped for.

To everyone who believed in Minterest, including users of the Minterest protocol, private investors, CAE/LBP participants, ambassadors, ecosystem partners, advisers, and OG team members, we’re grateful for your support through the highs and lows. We’ll keep timelines simple, communication clear, and help available throughout.
